About Course

This course follows on from the Introducing and Teaching STEM course. It develops the ideas of the first course and takes participants through the planning and practice of three STEM projects. Suggestions are also made of ideas for other projects which teachers can develop for themselves in collaboration with their students.

Descriptive Points

Enhance teachers' understanding of STEM concepts, principles, and the interdisciplinary nature of STEM education. Equip participants with the knowledge and skills to plan and design effective STEM projects for their classrooms. Provide opportunities for hands-on experience in conducting three distinct STEM projects. Foster collaboration and teamwork among teachers, encouraging them to work together on project development and implementation. Develop teachers' ability to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in their students through STEM projects. Empower teachers to adapt and customise STEM projects to suit the needs and interests of their students.

Explain STEM concepts and their applications, demonstrating a deeper understanding compared to the first course.
Create detailed project plans, including objectives, materials, assessment strategies, and timelines for at least three STEM projects.
Successfully execute three STEM projects in their classrooms, showcasing effective teaching practices and engaging student participation.
Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop and refine STEM projects, fostering a culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Integrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills into STEM projects, enabling students to analyse, synthesise, and evaluate information.
