About Course

This course covers Essay Writing Skills at first generally but then explores how they must be applied to writing argumentative and expository essays. The structure of the course is highly informative, with most attention being given to an exploration of the structure of essays and where students are most likely to forget to apply their skills well. The course also gives lots of focus to the kinds of questions students will likely face in exam scenarios and how to recognise what exactly an essay is asking of them, and what structures to apply. Additionally, the course contains four examples of essays, one good and one bad argumentative, one good and one bad expository and explores what makes them good and bad, as well as providing handouts with useful vocabulary for essay writing.
