Coping with Bullying – A Teacher’s Guide to Prevention and Intervention
About Course
This course covers Coping with Bullying from the perspective of the teacher faced with a bullying situation and gives guidance on how to intervene in various situations. The situations are described in terms of their seriousness and the rapidness of intervention required by the teacher and other staff members of the institution. Where the situation requires more rapid intervention, quick guidelines are given, and where slower intervention can be taken, investigative methods into bullying behaviour are emphasised. The course also emphasises sensitivity to the victim’s perspective in the various interventions described. The course is also designed to be used by both teachers of children but also recommends application to adults. Further, the course provides links to legal guidelines where necessary.
