About Course

Empowering learners is all about giving them the strategies they need to be independent and take ownership of their learning. In this course, we distinguish the differences between learner independence and learner dependence and assess the different strategies we can use to promote the former, empowering learners in the process. If you want to help your learners take control of their learning, this course will give you the techniques you need to make that a reality.

What Will You Learn?

  • To be able to discriminate between activities and techniques that encourage learners to be independent and those that empower learners to take control of their learning.
  • To plan and deliver at least one lesson in which learners are empowered to take control of their own learning and to critically reflect on this after the event.
